SH2-307 (Sharpless 307 )

This object is small but has a lot of nebula around it. The small bright nebula in this image is sh2-307 and does very well with a hydrogen-alpha filter. If you do not have such a filter, the red filter can be used a luminance if desired. The object is mainly red and the Oxygen III filter picked up nothing so a narrowband color image will not work well. A larger telescope should be able to pick up some structure in this object. If you use a wide field of view system, the faint nebula around Sh2-307 will need a long exposure to bury the noise. RGB was binned 2x2 on this image. Image acquired using the JMSM remote observatory.
